Metallica - Reportage sur France 3 à l'occasion du concert à Arras, le 14/08/08


Mode chti à part, l'endroit où il fallait être cet été, c'est Arras. Après Radiohead, les leaders de la pop torturée et cérébrale (en juillet, dans le cadre du Main Square Festival), la ville du Pas-de-Calais bénéficiait, jeudi 14 août, d'une deuxième exclusivité nationale, toujours sur la Grand-Place, dans un tout autre registre : Metallica, maîtres incontestés du heavy métal depuis plus de deux décennies. Deux autres groupes étaient conviés : les Français de Gojira, internationalement reconnus pour leur art du death metal et leur précision dans le concassage rythmique et mélodique, et Within Temptation, un groupe néerlandais qui ne semble disposer que d'un atout, la photogénie de sa chanteuse. Le reste est cauchemardesque, du pseudo-metal qui s'acoquine, dans un décor de monstres ailés et de gargouilles, avec tout et surtout n'importe quoi : de la variété méditerranéenne au new age.
